The Westerly Centaur is an English classic. Built in 1969, "Kiana" was fully restored in 2009 by Captain Charles Anderson. A unique twin keel design makes Kiana what is referred to in sailing as a "heavy weather boat". In other words, She is stable, and safe. She may not be the fastest boat out there, but she is solid. The Kiana can also be beached when the tide goes out and she stands up straight.
When the wind is calm Kiana is powered by a volvo MD2 diesel engine that has a Golden Fuel System installed, which allows it to run on waste vegetable oil gathered from restaurants. Come rain or shine, wind or calm, your experience on the beautiful Kachemak Bay will have no negative environmental impact. For your convenience, Kiana has standing headroom in the cabin, with an enclosed head, (toilet) for privacy. |
